Hourra ! ça faisait longtemps qu’il attendait un podium, après pas mal de frustrations, Aurélien revient du championnat d’Europe avec la médaille d’argent !

Nos descendeurs était ce week end à Granjska Gora en Slovénie pour défendre les couleurs bleu-blanc-rouge au championnat d’Europe. Aurélien, toujours super déterminé, a très bien tenu son rang de leader de cette jeune équipe de France. Le samedi, il a réalisé un superbe run de qualification en prenant la 2ème place juste derrière l’anglais Dan Stanbridge. Le lendemain, il est parti très confiant, sur une piste roulante avec beaucoup de pédalage sur la fin de parcours sur laquelle il a pu gérer plus facilement ses douleurs aux mains.
Il confirme sa 2ème place en course en 3′47″21, derrière le suisse Nick Beer qui fait 6ème de la dernière coupe du Monde à Vallnord.

Myriam, elle, termine à la 4ème place, derrière les 3 françaises Floriane Pugin, Emelyne Ragot et Céline Gros. Pompon est un peu déçue, elle commence à être fatiguée physiquement, suite à l’euphorie de début de saison internationale et à ses performances extraordinaires en Elite. On arrive en milieu de saison et elle attend avec impatience la coupure de 15 jours après l’épreuve de coupe du monde à Maribor (Slovénie) le week end prochain pour récupérer et être en forme pour les coupes du monde canadiennes.

Ces 2 superbes places devraient permettre à Aurélien et Myriam d’être sélectionnés en équipe de France pour le championnat du monde en Australie (Canberra) en septembre prochain, croisons les doigts !

Pour l’anecdote, Aurélien & Myriam étant ce week end là également encadré par le staff de l’équipe de France, Sébastien a pu se dégager un peu de temps et s’est décidé au dernier moment à rouler sur la piste de ce championnat d’Europe, juste pour le fun ! Equipé des protections d’Aurélien, au guidon du Giant ReignX de notre mécano, il s’est vraiment fait plaisir et termine 3ème master des qualifications ! Le lendemain, Sébastien a préféré rester sage et revêtir son habit de coach-manager pour aider Aurélien et Myriam !

Côté voltiges, Yannick gagne le dirt de la 2ème manche du WRT de Cabrières d’Avignon pour la 2ème année consécutive. Il a réalisé un très beau run, propre et bien maîtrisé techniquement en enchainant un tailwhip drop, un condor sur la 1ère bosse, puis un back flip en 3.60 x-up et finit avec magnifique 3.60 tailwhip. Enfin, côté Enduro, notre spécialiste Arno Faucher termine à la 19ème place de la Maxivalanche de Vallnord, après une belle qualification où il se place 7ème.

A très bientôt pour la 5ème manche de coupe du monde à Maribor ce week end côté course, et côté “event”, RDV au Mondial du VTT aux 2 Alpes dès jeudi !

Hurra ! It has been a long time since he waited for a podium, after quite a lot of frustrations, Aurélien comes back from the European championship with the silver medal!
Our downhillers were this weekend to Granjska Gora in Slovenia to defend the blue-white-red colors flag to the European championship.
Aurélien, always super determined, very well held his leader’s rank of this young French team. He went in Slovenia with the objective of a podium, he realized his goal finishing on the qualifying sessions at the second place on saturday and confirming his strong place during the run : on Sunday morning Auré started on a rolling track with many of pedaling at the end of course on which he was able to manage more easily his pains in hands.
He takes the silver medal in racing in 3 ‘ 47 ” 21, behind Swiss Nick Beer (who made 6th of the last world cup to Vallnord).

Myriam, ends on the 4th place, behind 3 french friends, Floriane Pugin, Emelyne Ragot and Céline Gros. “Pompom” is a little disappointed, she begins to be physically tired, further to the euphoria of the beginning of international season and further to her extraordinary performances in Elite category. We arrive in the middle of season and she looks forward to the break of 15 days after the world cup to Maribor ( Slovenia) the next weekend to recover and be in shape for the Canadian world cups.

These 2 magnificent places should allow Aurélien and Myriam to be selected in French team for the world championship in Australia (Canberra) next September, let us cross fingers!

For the story, Aurélien and Myriam being this weekend there also supervised by the staff of the French team, Sebastien was able to get free a little of time and decided at the last moment to ride on the track of this European championship, just for the fun! Equipped with Aurélien’s protections, in the handlebars of Giant ReignX Enduro of our mechanic, he really enjoyed the course and ended at the 3rd place to master qualifications! The Sunday, Sebastien preferred to dress his coach - manager’s cap to help Aurélien and Myriam !

Finally, Yannick won the dirt of the 2nd round of the WRT of Cabrières d’Avignon for the 2nd consecutive year. He realized a very beautiful run, clean and well mastered technically there with a tailwhip drop, a condor on the 1st bump, then a backflip in 3.60 x-up and finishêd with magnificent 3.60 tailwhip. Enduro side, our specialist Arno Faucher ends on the 19th place of Maxivalanche in Vallnord, afetr a nice 7th qualifying place.
